A short sale requires there to be two conditions met in order to achieve success.

 

1.  No Equity.  If your house is worth less than you owe on your loan, or combination of loans, then you meet the first requirement.

 

2.  A need to sell your home.  If at any point in the near future, you need to move from your current residence for any reason whatsoever, then you qualify for a short sale.
